Colaneri should be known for their inspiring labels. If you haven't been and talked with principals (especially Betty) than you're missing half the story. Sure they dry their grapes in kilns to mirror the Italian appassimento method, but it's the label that tells the story about the wine - each label represents a family member. This one is a beauty and speaks of 3 generations: father, son and grandfather and togetherness (insieme). I won't ruin the story by trying to condense it here, but it all starts with grandpa's hat on the top ... now you must find out the rest. As for the wine, it's a harmonious combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot that shows raspberry, strawberry and chocolate on the nose, spice, cigar box, raspberry and strawberry with a lovely long finish on the palate.
