Creekside 2006 Sauvignon Blanc
Summer wines should be about putting zing into your mouth, raciness onto the palate and savouring whatever you put on your tongue. Creekside’s new Sauv Blanc does just that, and all at a decent price – which is the fourth tenet of summer wines: they shouldn’t break the bank. This Blanc enters the palate the same way it came through on the nose, with grapefruit, gooseberry and some minerality. It’s zingy, racy and crisp acidity causes the mouth to salivate, yet quenches in the same swallow … and heck, it’s very tasty too. So don’t hesitate to pick up a few bottles of this wine for those dog-days of summer ahead, and Creekside has made it easy on you, it’s available both at the winery and the LCBO.
