It's nice to see fruit wine with a vintage date because some fruit wines (like grape wines) will age better than others ... cherry is one of those that seems to have a lot of acidity keeping the sweet fruit notes in check. But this one isn't a one-note cherry wonder, in fact there's complexity here in the form of cinnamon and pepper amongst the Montmorency cherry which seems to be there from beginning to end - speaking of end, look for the cinnamon-dark chocolate-cherry finish.
