Tasted this with winemaker JL Groux and he was quick to point out (when discussing the yeast regime of this wine): “I call it native when it goes well and wild when it doesn’t”. Not sure how he determines that one, but this is a decent Chardonnay that seems almost void of typicity, but then again it is fairly young. Vanilla, spice and a creamy/acid like fight for dominance … I’m told this should get more robust with age, currently this is Chardonnay for those who want to be challenged by a glass of wine.
