This Monastrell from the Alicante region of Spain spends 15 months in French oak and comes off pleasant and easy drinking but not in a simple way – there’s wonderful complexity that includes: raspberry, mineral, vanilla and cherry. But you can also look for a real freshness and juiciness on the dry palate that drives the acidity home with the last swallow.  Rating: ****+
