This wow-wine is a blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah; it’s not often you see a Petit Verdot lead the charge in a blend, but this one does and it pulls it off admirably.  Plum, chocolate, black cherry, blackberry and floral greet the nose; and on the palate rich black fruit, cocoa/mocha with some grit from the tannins and spice that appear mid-palate to finish – there’s also some floral and minerality kicking around on  the finish too.  Rating: ****
