When I visited the winery some 10 years ago, it was called Golden Mile Cellars, they were quite proud of their old vines Chenin – now even older this odd-for-BC variety is showing even more depth of character: minerality runs right through while lanolin, lime pith and honey greet the nose; and peach and pear fruit add their voice to the palate … there is a subtle bitterness to the finish but that just helps keep that lovely white fruit in check.
