The best of the 2016 Classico DOCGs I tasted during the Anteprima this year, it shows the beauty and elegance that I have found in the 2016 vintage from this region and these wines. 2016 is an under-rated vintage in Chianti based on the perceived perfection of the 2015 vintage that preceded it. Nice floral, black cherry, smoke, cedar and licorice all play an equal part in the enjoyment of this wine and potential for seven-plus years in the cellar.  Rating: ****
