A whopping 15.4% alcohol on the label and 14-18 months in new French oak, but large puncheons – not small barrels, thus allowing the fruit character to shine. This 3 vineyard blend of Syrahs is very well balanced (though with that alcohol it has no right to be): white pepper, cassis, black cherry, black raspberry – all great fruit notes that make this wine so approachable in a deep, dark, rich and succulent way.  Rating: ****+
