I have a few bottles of Xavier wines in my cellar and I find these are wines that don't disappoint plus they offer great value for what's in the bottle. This Ventoux is a blend of Syrah (50%), Grenache (30%) and Mourvedre (20%) - pretty standard fare for Rhone Valley reds - but it offers up so much more than the sum of its parts (especially at this price point). There's a slight floral note on the nose that'll have you sniffing a few more times than usual because those pretty floral aromas mix well with the red fruits; but the palate is where this wine truly shines: cherry and raspberry fruit with a cocoa/mocha finish.
