A Bordeaux-style blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the Penedes region of Spain aged 18 months in new French oak barrels; a strange wine when you think of all the great Spanish varieties possible, but it’s a great version of none-the-less. This is some pretty impressive juice with its rich red fruit and stony components. There’s a slightly smoked-cherry note that interplays with raspberry and strawberry fruit, plus there’s that hit of acidity and a firm tannin backbone – what really makes it pretty though is that subtle florality that creeps in on the nose.
