Interesting to see this grape outside of California and even weirder still, to see it in Canada (albeit the warmer west coast). Alcohol seems to have topped out at 15.9% with notes of sweet raspberry and strawberry at its core, luckily the alcohol does not seem to get in the way of all that comes next: plum, chocolate-cherries and even a hint of spice balanced by a nice dollop of acidity; surprisingly delicious - but look out for that sweet-fruited alcohol, it’s a headache waiting to happen, so drink sparingly.  Rating: *** ½+
