This 100% Syrah is pulled out of four blocks of the Red Willow Vineyard called Chapel Block then lives in a French oak home for 10 months, of which 48% is new. Deep, rich and smoky with dark fruit and toasty notes along with plum and some meaty character, more specifically bacon fat, and black pepper ... All made even better by the long finish.  Rating: ****+
