Does Cabernet Franc grow in Northern Ontario, well 80% of this one does – think about an hour north of The County … than it is augmented with 20% Niagara fruit. It’s aged a mere four months in new French oak and fermented using a Bordeaux-derived yeast. The wine itself is full of raspberry, cranberry and cherry, so quite fruit forward, almost to the point of being “jammy”, but comes off light and refreshing due to its acidity along with good tannins structure. There are hints and hits of tobacco but it’s the repeating raspberry on the finish that gives this wine its calling card.  Price: $40.00 – Rating: **** ½
