Glenn Symons has nailed his Chardonnay profile and with this 2017 he knows it … three-quarters stays in stainless steel while one-quarter sees oak (and this is where it get complicated): two 500L barrels, of which one was new, then the rest in regular size barrels, 25% new oak (one of four barrels) the rest is 2 year old oak … follow? But pay no attention to all that, it’s the result that really speak here: lovely peach and vanilla notes with delicate spice and awesome County-minerality that shows from beginning right into the long finish … it’s multi-layered and lovely – Glenn’s best Chardonnay to date, but only 500 cases were made, so like the wine in your glass it won’t last long. Price: $35.00 – Rating: **** ½
