Best description for this wine is “wild” – wild yeast causes “wild” fermentation then it is put into Canadian Oak (found in the wild?) but then offering wild aromas and flavours that aren’t rightly associated with Canada. This Chardonnay is rich and round with notes of coconut (?) – still a head scratcher to me – plus smoke, canned peaches and a subtle butteryness with apple backing. Price: $21.95 – Rating: ****
