Once again the reserve is a barrel selection of Cabernet Franc, this time the 2016 is in the spotlight and sits longer than the standard; both barrels selected were older and when all was said and done rested a full 32 months in oak – but the combination of hot vintage and older oak soften the wine creating something more fruit forward than 32 months in oak would suggest: cherry and raspberry notes with a light dusting of tobacco and smoke, plus there’s a hint of floral and some strawberry on the finish.
