Reynvaan 2017 Grenache Blanc

Last place you'd expect to find a wine of this quality from this grape is Washington State, but son of a bitch, if this is not one of the most amazing wines I have had on my trip. Three-quarters of an acre was planted in 2008 in their “In the Rocks” Vineyard - barrel fermented in French oak, then aged 10 months (60% new) - the complexity in this wine is incredible: the richness of texture, the mouthfeel - all make this wine a complete fascination and will of winemaking. A punch of pineapple, apricot and subtle vanilla, with grapefruit pith and a mineral finish. 80 cases made and very exciting to see.  Rating: ****+  (click here to see my video review)
