Lots of tobacco and leather upfront – plum and gentle spice on the mid-palate – while the long finish is pleasant, but there’s a replay of oaky-dark fruit that kicks in and there’s a bitter-ish note that suggests an over-pressing of the fruit to extract maximum amount of juice.  Rating ***+
