A big year Cabernet Franc made in a lean year style – I would have expected big, ballsy fruit and harsh tannins here, but Ilya Senchuk (winemaker for Good Earth as well as his own Leaning Post brand) toned everything way back with 18 months in oak for this all-estate fruit output: cherry, raspberry and cigar box with acidity that provides a bang-on balancing act … really food friendly wine which is truly what you’d want (and expect) from the Good Earth, for eat-in or take-out.
