Colin Stanner has always had a way with Cabernet Franc since the very beginning – this is Lincoln Lakeshore fruit (Niagara) that he lovingly took care of. Harvested on Halloween 2017 (October 31) that went through a long-slow-low-temp fermentation and pressed off in January. What a delight of a Cabernet Franc and for Franc fans: lots of rich dark fruit a la blackberry and black cherry plus some red licorice nibbles around that dark fruit core – subtle smoke, pepper and other spice notes and a long finish help bring this one home – and you should too.
