Quite a wine that offers up so much in both aromas and flavours. There’s 14% Cabernet Franc added to the Sauvignon to add an extra punch to the wine, and 2015 is said to be “one of the greatest vintages to date” in South Africa … Aged 20 months in 60% new French oak from Sylvain and Saury cooperage … it’s the multiple and varied layers that make this wine so appealing: dark fruit, licorice, spice, smoke and even some red fruit peaking around the proverbial corner; touches of vanilla and floral also find their way through. A true delight to sip on and contemplate life, the universe and everything vinous … simply gorgeous. Rating: **** ½
