There’s always something special in a bottle of Speck Family Reserve – plus these wines are also quite age-worthy. Here there’s a brightness and purity of fruit that leads things off, then sweeps in with telltale Pinot character like earthy, cranberry and sour cherry … but what really makes this wine are the silky tannins and great acid punch on the finish.  Price: $34.95 – Rating: ****
