A wine that spent 18 months in oak and is still punchy coming out – lots of mocha, chocolate and white pepper greet the nose initially before fruit kicks in on the tongue with blackberry, black cherry, cassis and even a hint of violets; there’s a lovely silkiness of tannins, lush fruit, nice acid balance and a smokiness that really just ties it all together. This is one of Burrowing’s best Cabernets that I have tasted to date. Price: $35.00 – Rating: **** ½
