A blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc coming from Osoyoos and Similkameen Valley aged 24 months in a mix of French and American oak, 30% of which is new – and the layers of flavours here are incredible, and this bottle is just getting started. I was told to wait till August to try it but I juts needed to find out what was under the cap:  anise, black cherry and vanilla greet the nose. The palate is where this wine really sings with its smoky, leathery and earthy notes, followed by blueberry, tobacco and some real intense tannins, then it finishes with leather, cigar box and smoke. This wine needs more time to settle but it’s on its way to being a beauty in 3 years onward: Drink 2023-2030.  Price: $42.99 – Rating: ****+
