Stanners 2018 Pinot Noir, The Narrow Rows

As the name suggests, the grapes for this bottling of Stanners, always good Pinot Noir, is sourced from their narrowest (and oldest – planted 2005) rows of their vines – it is then handled with kid gloves in the winery and bottled with no filtration so all that love and goodness they infused in the wine during the making remains. The results speak for themselves as this is one of the most complex, yet approachable, Pinots to come out of the Stanners cellar to date: blackberry, black cherry with hints of smoke, cranberry, rhubarb, strawberry and white pepper. It even comes across rather juicy with some floral prettiness on the nose and silky tannins on the finish. Lovely.  Price: $45.00 – Rating: ****+
