Quite an interesting Syrah where the volatile acidity (VA) note on the nose may turn you off, but the finish and secondary characteristics really shine on the palate. The nose leads with that slight VA character and some earthy notes, but then the palate takes charge with dark fruit (black cherry mainly) with mocha, thick cut bacon, violets and pepper ... This one over delivers in the mouth - the nose should (hopefully) come around. Price: $33.90 - Rating: ****+
