This wine shows 14.9% alcohol on the label, which screams “appassimento” to me, seeing as 2018 was not “that kind of vintage”. Nice tobacco and dark chocolate, plus there's a note of herbaceous-ness in here as well. But its on the mid-palate where this wine shines with blue and black fruit, namely plum and cherry, with some vanilla-cinnamon backed by a nice picante-spice finish; and yes, I did have it confirmed, apassimento was used in the making of this wine.
