Steller's Jay 2005 Pinnacle (British Columbia)

12 Apr 2016

(October 9, 2015) ... One of British Columbia's premier Sparkling wines is a pleasure to sip on in its youth, but how does it hold up ten years down the line?

For starters the acidity here is still bright and lively while the palate seems more intriguing, but that truly depends on how you like your Sparkling wine: hazelnut and marzipan, with stale bread, rusty apple, and bitter lemon mostly appear on the palate with aromas verging on the side of orange zest. I'd have to say it has aged a heck of a lot more interesting than I ever thought it would ... Nice job Jay!
