(May 17, 2016) ... After tasting the 2008 Cave Spring Riesling we moved on to a big red from California, not sure what I expected from this Cab with the showy label but it started off pretty good with aromas of plum, prune, blackberry, and black cherry; the palate has a real smoothness to it loaded with blackberry, vanilla, and a gentle grittiness. Right off the hop it was a tasty wine; but as the evening wore on it became less and less attractive; air is definitely not this wine's friend so drink up quick.
