From the Cellar

Just because I started a website called OntarioWineReview.com doesn't mean it's All-Ontario-All-the-Time. When I kick back at night my mood (and sometimes my curiosity) decides my wine of choice. And the title should read, "Uncorked and Un-Screwed Tonight" ... but that just sounds wrong.

January 5, 2013: 4 Bottles from 3 Countries (Ontario / New Zealand / Portugal)

03 Jan 2013

An interesting night of wine.  Started with one of my last two bottles of Stoney Ridge's inaugural Sparkling wine from 2005 ... sadly it was corked, you could smell it right off the bat, thankfully the taste was intact for the first few sips so we could see where it would have been - it was still fresh and lively with acidity, sadly the flavour was consumed with cork notes within minutes.

The other three bottles:
Angels Gate 2005 Old Vines Chardonnay
Marisco 2010 Marlborough Pinot Noir
Ferreira 1999 Late Bottled Vintage Port
