iCellars 2016 Arinna

When they say an iron fist in a velvet glove they are talking about wines like Arinna – a Merlot dominant (50%) with Cabernet Sauvignon (28%), Cabernet Franc (17%) and Malbec (4%) … a 12 month in America (20%) and French (80%) oak barrels and about 40% were new. This monster also weighs in at a whopping (for Ontario) 14.5% alcohol – but I doubt you’d be able to tell. Aromas of sweet black fruit, vanilla, black cherry, blackberry and tobacco lead to a palate that’s juicy with red and black fruit, tobacco and spice. The oak is barely noticeable as the palate is soft and supple with approachable tannins … a real beauty.
