This is the left bank brother of the Arinna’s right bank blend: here Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme at 75% with only 20% Merlot and 5% Franc … then it’s aged for 1year in new French oak, and then another year in 1 year old oak … in the first year it’s all separated then in the second it sits in oak as a blend, racked every three months – then it is bottled un-fined and un-filtered, so it will throw sediment as it ages. Earthy and cassis notes lead things off – while big tannins rule the finish – in the middle you’ll find that smoky and peppery notes kick in while the fruit lays dormant ready to pounce with age, it’s coming, it just needs time.
