The Foci … Grapes Gone Global (GGG) and Lighter Side of Red (LSR)
The Skinny … There’s a whole whack of surprising wines and most of them are not the ones you would expect, the “Global” wines best the originals, but the light reds, for the most part, are a disappointment. Highlights include a Plan de Dieu red and a Chardonnay from Chile; also a look at a $23 Portuguese red that’s mind-blowingly good for the BBQ this coming summer.
