Casa de Santar 2000 Castas de Santar (Portugal) ... A Dao blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz and 30% Alfroheiro Preto - Lots of forest floor, dried cherry and earthy notes along with licorice, and a surprisingly fresh acidity that carries with it a savoury note - delicious for it's age and would be so even if it were a younger wine.
Bodegas Volver 2011 Tarima Hill (Spain) ... A much younger, darker and fruitier wine that has plenty of plum, black cherry, black licorice, white pepper, and mocha. Delicious, full-bodied and worth every sip.
