Passo del Sud 2015 Appassimento

(December 15, 2016) ... I'll have to say this is one of the best wines an agent has dropped off at my door in a long time, especially if you're a person who likes BBQ or are carnivorous in any way. This blend of Primitivo, Nero de Troia and Negroamaro made in an Appassimento style in the south of Italy (Puglia) really hits the mark for a BBQ-friendly red blend. Enters the mouth sweet and smoky, the mid-palate is rich with black cherry and chocolate; and all finishes with slightly chalky, but still supple tannins, that help to add some depth … very sippable. I'm hoping this comes to the LCBO (in Ontario, Canada) for summer consumption.
