(April 12, 2020) ... I'll be honest, this wine was probably exactly what I expected, especially considering the vintage of 2014, at the time of the wine coming out I gave it a four-star rating and sad "give it a couple of years and you will be pleasantly surprised" ... I gave it three. Was I right? Ummm ...
Not if you like fruit, because this wine was almost devoid of it: licorice, smoky, earthy, herbal and tobacco leaf, everything was very tertiary, sure their was great acidity backing it all up, but it was rather a disappointment. If you are a fan of the "Red" from Trius, don't be deterred, they are still great wines, but in a vintage like 2014 you just can't make silk from a sows ear. Rating: Thumbs Down
