Taste it Again / Lost & Found
On occasion, I’ll take a wine I like and put it away in a “special box” for a few years to see how it will age … below you will read happened to those wines. On the other hand, there are wines that get “lost” in my wine cellar with nary a review ever written - some have turned into golden Treasures, others supreme Trash and then there are those that fall somewhere in-between (Tolerable). We’ll look at those here too. (New wines are being added all the time so keep coming back):

(November 9, 2017) ... it's one of those special single vineyard wines that have become de rigueur, but back in 2010 seeing a single vineyard moniker on a bottle of Ontario wine was not prevalent: the nose is not one you'd think of as truly inviting with its dusty, smoky, pencil shavings, and cassis, but the palate seems to deliver more of what you're looking for in a seven year old bottle of Franc: oak and smoky, with spicy, dried dark fruit, and a dusty cocoa finish.

(October 30, 2017) ... There is traditionally amazing longevity on these Equuleus wines, I usually don't touch them for a least a decade, so here at 12 years of age I thought it's time to drink up. It's pretty much where you'd expect it to be earthy and dried black fruit with woodsy notes, yet smooth and silky on the palate ... Time to drink up as there is less likelihood it will be getting any better.
